Transcote Pty Ltd is an approved applicator of International Paint’s elastomeric urethane “Polibrid 705E”.
Polibrid provides the ultimate in long term corrosion protection for concrete and steel surfaces in a large number of extremely aggressive environments, such as mine sites, off shore rigs and water treatment plants.
Although this product is relatively new to Australia, Polibrid has provided corrosion protection across a range of harsh environments for over 20 years in the U.S.A.
McElligott’s also provide Fire Protection Coatings systems covering a wide range of “Chartek” products, for the protection of company assets in varying fire situations.
This is also an approved applicators program through International Paints.
McElligott’s are an approved applicator for the range of “Denso” products used for the likes of pipe wrapping and for use in protection on gas pipelines. For the transport of liquid and gaseous media, steel pipes are used. These pipes are protected against corrosion by coatings from polymeric materials which are impermeable to water and oxygen. Steel pipes for
buried pipelines are most commonly factory coated. For some parts of buried pipelines it is necessary to apply the coating material on site. Simple application and integrity of the coating under the given operating conditions are the most important criteria that have to be considered when choosing a suitable material.
When laying the pipeline in an open trench, field coating could be done on welding seams, bends, branches and installations like flanges and valves. In case of trenchless laid pipelines, only the welding seams have to be coated on site.
In case of buried plastics pipes an additional mechanical protection may be necessary to prevent damages caused by soil stresses.
